Concord, NH: This afternoon, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement regarding comments made by State Representative Steve Vaillancourt:

“The comments made by Rep. Steve Vaillancourt have no place in politics today. We should be talking about how we can make life better for Granite State women and their families – not about how they look. And that’s what I’m focused on: fighting to ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work, that women – not the government – can make their own personal health care decisions for themselves, and that their children can access affordable higher education. From opposing the Violence Against Women Act, to wanting to ban abortion in all cases with no exception for the life of the mother, these comments exemplify an extreme Tea Party platform here in New Hampshire that hurts women and their families.”
