Kuster’s support for women’s reproductive health earns backing of NARAL Pro-Choice America
Concord, NH – This morning, Congresswoman Annie Kuster was joined by members of NARAL Pro-Choice America at a Halloween Party in Concord to announce their endorsement of her candidacy. NARAL members back Kuster because of her unwavering commitment to supporting a woman’s right to choose and make her own health care decisions.
“As an adoption attorney and longtime activist for reproductive rights, I know firsthand how crucially important it is to protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions. I’m honored to have the support of NARAL Pro-Choice America and their many members here in New Hampshire,” Kuster said. “My opponent believes women’s issues are being used as a scare tactic against her, but what is truly frightening is how Marilinda Garcia’s anti-choice policies would hurt Granite State women and their families. I will continue to work with NARAL moving forward, to ensure that Granite State women’s rights are protected.”
"Voters have a clear choice this election. Simply put, Marilinda Garcia is bad for women's health. In sharp contrast, Congresswoman Kuster has spent her entire career working on behalf of women and their families. We are so proud to support her campaign for re-election,” stated Laura Thibault, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire.
Wednesday’s event was Halloween-themed to underscore Garcia’s scary positions on reproductive health issues. Garcia has repeatedly voted to ban all abortions in New Hampshire with no exception for rape, incest or saving the life of the mother. She even voted to send doctors to jail who perform abortions in order to save a mother’s life. What’s more, she’s supported "personhood" in the past, an extreme, far-right stance that would mean eliminating many forms of birth control and in vitro fertilization. All of these policies are frightening – and simply too extreme for New Hampshire.
