Congresswoman Annie Kuster has announced new bills to combat workplace sexual harassment.
“We are going to change the culture,” Kuster said in a press conference in Washington, D.C., Monday. “Not just here in Congress, not just in Hollywood, but across the land. Every worker should have a respectful workplace."
Kuster, a sexual assault survivor herself, is teaming up on the bills with two Democratic representatives from New York. The two bills are designed to end the secrecy surrounding sexual harassment settlements and would stop companies from using sexual harassment-related severances as an ordinary cost of doing business.
