Congressman Bass Votes to End Medicare While Protecting Tax Cuts for Big Oil

Concord, NH - Today, House Republicans including Congressman Bass showed New Hampshire voters that his priority is protecting millionaires at the expense of the Medicare guarantee. Instead of joining Annie Kuster in standing up for New Hampshire seniors, Congressman Bass voted for the radical Republican budget that would end the Medicare guarantee while giving special tax breaks to Big Oil and corporations who ship jobs overseas.

Standing up for Medicare

Moments ago the Ryan budget was passed in the House of Representatives, and Congressman Bass threw his support behind the plan.

Last week, Annie wrote a letter to Congressman Bass, pledging to stand up for Medicare and urging him to do the same. More than 2,800 of New Hampshire voters added their name to Annie’s letter, but Bass has once again chosen to protect the interests of oil corporations at the expense of middle class families.

Yesterday we delivered Annie’s letter to Congressman Bass’ office with local …

Vouchers will not keep up with healthcare costs: Seniors would be given a fixed amount to pay for private health insurance coverage, which would not be enough to keep pace with the projected …

SNAP Endorses Ann McLane Kuster for Congress

In 2010, we sent two organizers to New Hampshire to fight for an activist who was running against an ultimate Blue Dog – a former chairperson on Joe Lieberman’s presidential campaign. She won that fight, and despite the Republican wave, was just barely denied the chance to serve her constituents in Washington. In 2012, we’re proud to support Ann McLane Kuster again, and our organizing fellows are committed to making sure this election ends differently.
