Van Ostern Joins Growing Kuster for Congress
Team as Campaign Manager
CONCORD, NH - Ann McLane Kuster announced today that New Hampshire Democratic campaign veteran and Concord resident Colin Van Ostern will join her growing team as Campaign Manager. Van Ostern most recently served as the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign Director in 2008, overseeing the party’s most successful campaign in state history
“Colin has worked tirelessly and successfully to make sure our state has strong Democratic voices in Concord and in Washington, and I’m thrilled that he is joining our growing effort,” said Kuster. “Few know our state and our party like he does, and with hundreds of supporters across the district already working hard to help us, Colin is joining a strong team that has the broad support it takes to win next November.”
“I know Ann McLane Kuster will make a great Congresswoman - a fresh, progressive voice who reflects New Hampshire values and knows how to bring people together to get things done,” said Van Ostern.
“Annie has brought the same drive and determination to this campaign that made her such an effective advocate over the years for the issues she cares about - like her successful work to create new programs to help families afford college tuition and health care, her longtime championship of a woman’s right to choose, and her work to help Senator John Kerry in 2004 and elect President Barack Obama last year.”
“I have seen her energy and enthusiasm already reflected in the broad coalition of grassroots supporters that are supporting her campaign, and I’m excited to join this growing team,” he added.
Previously, Van Ostern has worked as Communications Director for now- Senator Jeanne Shaheen, for former Congressman Jim Turner (D-TX), for the New Hampshire Democratic Party, and for various other Democratic candidates since moving to the state in 2001. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University and his MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business.
Ann McLane Kuster, a long-time community activist, author, and attorney with deep roots in the Granite state, announced her intention to represent New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District earlier this year, and will be making a more formal campaign announcement in the coming months. In the most recent fundraising quarter, McLane raised more money than any other congressional candidate of either party in New Hampshire, a sign of her strong and widespread support across the district.
