KUSTER CALLS ON CONGRESSMAN BASS TO URGE CONGRESSMAN AKIN TO STEP DOWN IN WAKE OF OFFENSIVE COMMENTS

CONCORD, N.H. – Congressional candidate Annie Kuster today issued the following statement urging Congressman Bass to call on Congressman Akin to step down in the wake of his offensive comments about rape:

“I urge Congressman Bass to immediately ask Congressman Akin to step down as Missouri’s Republican nominee for Senate. Congressman Akin’s remarks about ‘legitimate rape’ were profoundly offensive, completely inexcusable, and deserving of condemnation from members of both parties. Republican leaders have already called on Congressman Akin to step aside. I am very disappointed that Congressman Bass has failed to do the same.”
