Kuster Joins Lilly Ledbetter, OFA New Hampshire, Women for Obama, and Hundreds of Granite Staters to Celebrate Fair Pay
Concord, NH-Annie Kuster joined Lilly Ledbetter and OFA New Hampshire yesterday to celebrate the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 at a packed House Party in Concord hosted by the Obama Campaign.
“In New Hampshire women earn only 78 cents for every dollar earned by a man,” Kuster said, “Fair pay is about opportunity for middle class families, it is about maintaining the American dream for everybody not just the wealthiest among us.”
Ahead of Lilly Ledbetter’s visit, the Kuster campaign has collected 1776 petitions urging Congressman Bass to denounce New Hampshire GOP Executive Director Tory Mazzola’s statement that the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act is just “a handout to trial lawyers because it expands the areas that people can sue their employers unnecessarily.” Kuster’s campaign plans to deliver those petitions to Congressman Bass’ office this week.
