Shaking a few hands and buying souvenirs from Main Street shops, congressional candidate Ann McLane Kuster kicked off her campaign in the Keene area Thursday.
She visited a handful of downtown businesses including Brewbakers, Timoleon’s Restaurant, Pocketful of Rye and Hannah Grimes Marketplace.
Kuster, a Democrat from Concord, is expected to take on Republican Congressman Charles F. Bass of Peterborough in the November election for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District seat. It would be a rematch of a close and heated 2010 race, where Bass won 108,610 to 105,060, and the contest already has received national attention.
